Privacy Policy

We only collect the information you voluntarily provide through forms on this website. We do not require you to create an account to browse the site.

• Contact information — your name, email address and, if you choose to provide them, your mobile phone number and ZIP code.
• Inquiry and support information — the category you select and whatever you write in your message so we can route your request appropriately.
• Newsletter subscriptions — your email address and optional first name when you ask to receive email updates.
• Optional interests and ZIP code — if you choose topics (for example jobs, entrepreneurship or community events) or enter a ZIP code when subscribing, we record your choices, the page you chose them from and the date. These are never required and are kept separately from your email permission record.
• Employer and job submissions — if you submit a job or an employer inquiry, we collect the organization, contact name, work email, optional phone and the details of the role or request. Job submissions are reviewed by our team and are not published automatically; only approved role details (not your contact information) may be published.
• SMS opt-in information — if you affirmatively check the text message consent box, we keep a record of your mobile number, your consent status, the date and time, the form and page you consented from, the exact disclosure you were shown and the type of messages you agreed to receive.

Please do not send Social Security numbers, VA file numbers, medical records, financial account information or other highly sensitive personal information through this website.

Our website hosting and backend infrastructure automatically process standard technical information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as your IP address and basic request information contained in server logs. We also keep a simple count of certain site actions — such as a newsletter signup, a job submission or a click on an opportunity’s apply link — recorded only with the page path and no IP address, cookie or personal identifier. We do not run advertising networks on this site, we do not sell data, and we do not use third-party marketing or behavioral advertising trackers.

We use the information you provide to:

• respond to your request and connect you with appropriate resources or people;
• send you the communications you specifically asked to receive, tailored to any topics you chose;
• review job and employer submissions and follow up about them;
• operate, maintain and improve this website;
• protect the site and our community against spam, abuse and security threats;
• meet recordkeeping obligations, including proof of messaging consent.

We send email updates only to people who ask for them. Email permission is recorded separately from text message consent — agreeing to one never signs you up for the other, and neither is required to contact us or to receive support. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing info@thevetconnect.org, and every email update we send will include an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing also clears the topics you selected. To add topics, sign up again and choose them; to remove a topic, email us. We will still reply to a direct request you send us.

Our email update program is not yet active. We record your permission now and will begin sending updates once an email provider is configured. Unsubscribe requests sent to the address above are honored immediately.

Mobile information and SMS opt-in consent data will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Information may be provided to vendors and service providers only as reasonably necessary to operate communications and services on behalf of The Vet Connect — for example a messaging provider that delivers texts we send. Those providers are permitted to use the information only for that purpose and are subject to appropriate confidentiality and use restrictions.

Recurring text messages are sent only to people who affirmatively check the SMS consent box. Consent is never a condition of receiving services or support from The Vet Connect, is never bundled with acceptance of these policies, and providing a phone number alone does not enroll you. We use a small number of service providers to run this website and store form submissions and consent records securely on our behalf. They process information only to provide those services to us. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share subscriber lists, interests or ZIP codes with employers or other organizations. Submitting a job or employer inquiry does not give an employer access to anyone’s information.

Form submissions and consent records are stored in access-restricted systems and are not publicly visible on this website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information you share with us.

We keep the information you provide for as long as needed to respond to your request, to provide the communications you asked for and to maintain records of messaging consent and opt-outs. You may ask us to delete information you have shared by emailing info@thevetconnect.org. We may retain limited opt-out records to honor your request.

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy as our programs and services evolve. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page.
